The park is nice. Ideal for picnics and what not. But the idea of paying the lifeguards on duty to swim is a little strange. I get that they need to be paid for their services, but the way of going about said payment feels underhanded.
This beach is nice for kids - when it's open. I headed here on a nice mid-August Friday packed up with 2 small kids and beach stuff to find that it was closed for the season already! They have not updated their Google listing with accurate hours so I had no idea the beach was only open from June 10-August 13. Try explaining that to a 4yr old who was looking forward to a day at the beach. Should have driven farther to Green Lakes - at least the hours are updated online.
Great place for families. The beach is small but wonderful for a day out with the kids or gather with friends.
Beautiful view of Gillie lake- a favorite spot for a cheap romantic picnic. :)
As a child my sister and brother in law brought us there. It has many memories and is still a wonderful place to bond with your family.
